Khmer is my first language and also all Cambodian children should take Khmer class. I learn Khmer 4 hours a week. The first round of this year in Khmer class we focus on writing Khmer poem. For my opinion to write Khmer poem is so much harder than to write english poem. Khmer have a lot of different type of poem and also the different type of poem has a different type of rhyme. This year the theme for the poem is to inspire someone to change their self. My poem is to inspire kids to go to school. The title of this poem is “ When I go to school” and this poem in Khmer.

បទ កាកគតិ
ខ្ញំូទៅសាលា ហេីយខំសិក្សា រៀនយកចំណេះ
រៀនយកផ្លែផ្កា រៀនហេីយឲ្យចេះ រៀនយក ចំណេះ
តំរិះឥតខ្វះ។
មុនពេលចូលរៀន ចំណេះមិនមាន រៀនមិនគិតចាស់
គ្រប់មុខវិជ្ជា សំបូរខ្លាំងណាស់ ទោះក្មេងទោះចាស់
រៀនបានគ្រប់វ័យ។
ជីវិតយេីងវែង តែកំុប្រលែង ព្រោះវាមានន័យ
ត្រូវខិតខំរៀន ទោះមានរឿងអ្វី បេីសិនវាខ្លី
លៃលកតាមចេះ។
ម៉ែឪធ្វេីការ ឲ្យយេីងសិក្សា ហេីយមាន ចំណេះ
រៀនហេីយឲ្យចាំ រៀនហេីយឲ្យចេះ រៀនកំុគេចវេស
ចំណេះឥតខ្វះ។
